Costa Blanca is now one of the fastest growing and most well catered for golfing regions in Europe, with many courses of International standard and plenty more in the pipeline. La Manga Club is only 45 minutes drive south.

This part of the Costa Blanca is warmer than the Costa del Sol or the Algarve in the winter, yet cooler in the summer and golf fees are considerably cheaper than those on the south coast of Spain. As well as having what is considered by most to be the best golf course in the region on your doorstep, within a short drive of the apartment there are three superb golf courses:

Real Club de Golf Campoamor
(Par 72 / 6,203m, white) has lush, wide fairways, perfectly manicured beize-like greens and pretty surroundings. It has a superb new clubhouse (Peugeot Rating 14/20)Tel. 96 532 13 66
Las Ramblas Golf Club
(Par 72 / 5,914m, white) the course is known for its narrow fairways and greens. Accurate hitting and precision are needed when hitting the ball to maintain your handicap. There are only four holes where water does not feature and the course has some memorable holes. The rocky terrain is spectacular, with elevated tees, narrow fairways and lightning fast greens. Tel. 96 532 2011
Villamartin Urbanizacion Golf (Par 72 / 6,132m,white)

The oldest of the courses, Villamartin has hosted the Mediterranean Open. The Peugeot Golf Guide listing the best courses in Europe rates it at 16/20, which ranks it as one of the top courses in both Spain and Portugal, on a par with Los Naranjos and Vilamoura and above La Manga (15/20) among others.

Location: 2.5 km from Algorfa to Los Montesinos. This championship quality golf course was designed by Pepe Gancedo to hold open championships and was completed in 2002. It is set in a picturesque valley close to the historic town of Orihuela and the local village of Algorfa. La Finca golf course has the greatest variety of greens of any course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size from very large to very small. In addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event that one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round. Several lakes with running water and reed beds along the course add beauty and difficulty to the game, and have made the course the home of a wide variety of migratory water birds, such as ducks and egrets, while the interior of the course is home to olive and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.
